Rail Europe and Headout partner to make European train journeys more accessible

Paris, 8 April 2025 – Rail Europe and Headout are excited to announce an expanded partnership through an API integration, enabling Headout to seamlessly offer European train bookings on its platform. This collaboration gives travellers direct access to Rail Europe’s extensive train network, simplifying the booking process and ensuring a smooth user experience.

By integrating Rail Europe’s technology, Headout can provide real-time availability, dynamic pricing, and instant booking confirmation for European train tickets. This partnership aligns with Rail Europe’s mission to make train travel more accessible while expanding its reach to a wider audience through Headout’s platform.

The partnership first took shape in 2023 with the introduction of rail passes on Headout’s platform, including the Swiss Travel Pass, for unlimited travel in Switzerland, and Eurail/Interrail pass, which provides access to 33 European countries by rail. These passes quickly gained popularity among travellers. Building on this success, Rail Europe and Headout are now expanding their collaboration to offer the iconic scenic trains Bernina Express and Glacier Express, which operate in Switzerland. These breathtaking routes provide passengers with an unparalleled travel experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in the country’s stunning landscapes.

“Our partnership with Rail Europe perfectly aligns with Headout’s mission to connect people to extraordinary real-life experiences,” said Varun Khona, co-founder and CEO at Headout. “This API integration, combined with our product solution for the transportation category, sets a new benchmark in travel marketplaces—offering travellers a seamless and curated way to explore Europe by rail. By expanding our collaboration, we’re making it easier than ever for travelers to immerse themselves in Europe’s scenic beauty, one train ride at a time.”

Björn Bender, CEO & Executive Chairman of Rail Europe, said, "At Rail Europe, we believe that train travel is the most immersive and sustainable way to experience Europe. Our partnership with Headout is an exciting step towards bringing European rail journeys to an even wider global audience. By combining Rail Europe's expertise in rail distribution with Headout’s dynamic platform, we are making it easier than ever for travellers to discover and book European trains. We are excited about this collaboration and the new opportunities it will create for the future of rail travel."

With growing demand for sustainable and convenient travel options, this partnership provides travellers with expanded access to European trains and a seamless booking experience.
