Rail Europe strengthening ties in Southeast Asia market
Bangkok, 27 June 2024 – Rail Europe, the global reference brand for European train booking, is pleased to announce a significant event in Bangkok, as part of General Manager Asia & Pacific Richard Leonard's strategic visit to Southeast Asia (SEA) markets. This event aims to build market presence, meet key travel partners, and explore new opportunities in the region.
During his visit, Richard will engage with travel agents, trade, and consumer media to provide valuable insights into Rail Europe's future plans, innovations, and the latest developments in European train travel. He will also take the opportunity to meet and thank key partners for their work and cooperation over the years.
Additionally, Rail Europe is launching its much-anticipated Rail Itineraries brochure. The e-brochure features a curated collection of four, seven, and 15-day sample itineraries covering single and multiple countries throughout Europe. It is designed as a valuable resource for travel advisors, assisting them in planning European rail holidays for their clients. The itineraries are themed around history, art and culture, gastronomy, scenery and the outdoors, and quintessentially European experiences, including quaint, quirky, and medieval interests. Featured destinations include the UK and Ireland, France and Monaco, Spain and Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and Benelux, Scandinavia, Greece and the Greek islands, Central Europe, and multi-country routes.
" We are excited to deepen our engagement with the Southeast Asian market and offer valuable resources that inspire and assist travel advisors," says Richard Leonard, General Manager Asia & Pacific of Rail Europe. "Thailand, despite a slow start post-pandemic, has demonstrated maturity and resilience, with 2023 sales doubling compared to 2022. In 2024, we've already seen an increase year-to-date compared to 2023, and we expect to exceed our 2019 sales by the end of the year."
As part of this initiative, Rail Europe is also launching a B2B competition, inviting Thai agents to design their dream Swiss itinerary for a chance to win it. This competition, promoted through its channels and a targeted Facebook campaign, will run until July 31.
