Deutsche Bahn and Rail Europe forge continued strategic partnership to transform international rail travel

Berlin, Germany – 7 March 2024 – Deutsche Bahn (DB), Germany's premier railway company, and Rail Europe, the global leading distributor of European train tickets and passes, are delighted to announce the continuation of the partnership setting new standards in international rail travel. This collaboration highlights the integration by Rail Europe of DB’s innovative API for partners called PST interface.

This strategic alliance aims to expand DB's reach into Europe and especially overseas markets, leveraging Rail Europe's robust B2B network and B2C expertise. The partnership underscores both companies' commitment to providing accessible, convenient and state-of-the-art travel solutions to customers worldwide.

With the integration of the PST interface, Rail Europe will enhance the travel experience for customers inside and outside of Europe, offering direct access to DB's extensive rail network. This interface not only facilitates smoother booking processes but also ensures that international travellers can enjoy a wide range of travel options with ease and reliability.

The partnership was solidified with the signing of new future-oriented contracts at the ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade show. This marks the continuation of a long-term collaboration aimed at driving innovation and excellence in the travel industry. DB is already one of Rail Europe’s top products with +45% growth in 2023.

"This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our commitment to enhancing international travel experiences. We have a unique network and strong distribution channels across the globe. By joining forces with DB, we are expanding our reach into overseas markets and cementing our status as the most reliable and esteemed technology ally for the entire sector," stated Björn Bender, CEO and Executive Chairman of Rail Europe.

"Rail Europe shares our goal of presenting DB Fernverkehr as a sustainable means of transportation on a global basis. By extending our distribution agreement, we are pooling our strengths to further expand distribution for Deutsche Bahn with a focus on international markets and to offer our joint customers new opportunities for rail travel to and within Germany.
