05 September 2023 - Rail Europe launches “Swiss Mountain Peaks” on all channels
The reference brand for train travel to offer new routes to reach the Top of Europe by cable car or train
Rail Europe is happy to announce that some of Switzerland’s most spectacular mountain cable cars, trains and attractions - namely The Gornergrat, The Harderbahn, Pilatus, Titlis Rotair, CabriO Stanserhorn, Monte Generoso, Schynige Platte, Jungfraujoch and Rocher-de-Naye – also known as the “Swiss Mountain Peaks”, are now available on Rail Europe’s B2B and B2C channels.
Switzerland is located at the very heart of the Alps, the most extensive and impressive mountain range in Europe spanning across seven countries. In fact, 65% of Switzerland is dominated by this magnificent mountain range, which is undoubtedly the top attraction of the country. Rail Europe's expansion of its product portfolio with these popular attractions further reinforces its position as a premium partner providing travellers with the largest rail distribution system.
“Switzerland is one of Rail Europe's prime destinations and a central hub for European train travel. We are therefore delighted to now have some of the country’s most legendary peaks as part of our B2B and B2C inventories, thereby extending our offer beyond train travel. I look forward to seeing our customers discovering these incredibly exciting mountain attractions in the coming months. We are getting ready for the opening of the bookings of the Winter season”, says President & CEO, Björn Bender.
Celebrated for its exceptional punctuality and efficiency, the Swiss Federal railway system (SBB) stands as a telling example of excellence in modern transportation. Connecting picturesque towns and cities as well as mountains and lakes, it also offers travellers an unrivaled experience of comfort and breathtaking scenery, while navigating through the heart of the Alps. As such, Switzerland remains a top destination for travellers coming from all over the world, both in Winter and Summer time. The Swiss Mountain Peaks are an ideal addition to a Swiss discovery and the Swiss Travel Pass or Eurail Pass offered by Rail Europe.
