The reference brand for train travel to offer new popular trains in Europe

Paris, France – 30 May 2023 – Rail Europe is happy to announce the expansion of its offer: the Mont-Blanc Express and Léman Express are now available on Rail Europe’s B2C website and app. Both routes are located in the border region of Switzerland and France, one of the most visited areas in Europe.

"We are delighted to add the Mont-Blanc and Léman train routes to our product range. This represents an important step in our quest to provide seamless train travel experiences in Europe, for all. Undoubtedly, this new offer will tear down boundaries while travelling cross-border between France and Switzerland and improve our offer in this beautiful region,” says Björn Bender, CEO of Rail Europe.

The Mont-Blanc Express, which connects Martigny to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, is a narrow-gauge mountain railway, jointly run by SBB and SNCF.  It passes the magical Trient Valley, with its rocky outcroppings, forests, wild gorges and classic alpine villages. Although promoted as ‘express’, the trains take over two hours for the journey with an average speed of 24 km/h for the 56 km route, thus allowing travellers to enjoy the scenic view while being comfortably seated.

On the other hand, the Léman Express is one of the largest regional cross-border rail networks in Europe, which extends from the Geneva area into France, connecting Coppet to Évian-les-Bains, Annecy, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Bellegarde or Annemasse. The Léman Express, links 45 train stations on 230 km and welcomes up to 50,000 passengers every day.

As they traverse through awe-inspiring alpine valleys, winding mountain passes, and charming villages, the Mont-Blanc Express and Léman Express offer panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks, glistening lakes, and verdant meadows, thus attracting travellers from accross the World.
